“When you don’t work for something like this and you get it, you feel kind of embarrassed,” Linwood B. Lesure said, reviewing the events that made him the National Outstanding Tree Farmer of 1977. That wasn’t saying he had not earned the honor, the second one ever awarded by the American Forest Institute.
