A New England tradition since 1957
Santa’s Land U.S.A. offers family fun, nostalgic trip back in time
What do Santa and his elves do during the offseason? They head down to their Christmas-themed amusement park, Santa’s Land U.S.A., in Putney.
Generations of New Englanders have brought their families to the children’s theme park since it opened over 60 years ago. There, Santa still holds court in a clapboard Christmas village that is true to its 1957 beginnings. The park includes kiddie rides, an Alpine train ride, a giant slide, Christma displays and a historic 32-horse carousel from Coney Island’s Astroland. For past visitors returning with their own children, the low-key park offers a nostalgic trip back to their own childhood and the opportunity to create new memories.
Traditionally, the park is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Whether or not Santa and his elves will make an appearance this year was still up in the air at summer’s start, check the park’s website for the most up-to-date information.
UPDATE: We’re pleased to announce that Santa and his elves arrived in Putney on July 18.
