Quidditch tournament won’t take flight this year
M.A.G.I. Con postpones potion classes, celebration of Ilvermorny
Following the 2016 revelation that Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the school for young witches and wizards of North America, sits at the summit of Mount Greylock, Wizardkind and No-Maj (all members of ProAdams) came together to host the first Mischievous Appreciation of Greylock and Ilvermorny Convention or M.A.G.I. Con the following summer. Fans of J.K. Rowling’s Potterverse met in the Greylock Glen to celebrate everything Harry Potter with music, food, wands and costumes. The next year, classes in herbology, potions, divination and magical creatures were added to the festivities.
After taking a year off, the two-day convention was set to stir up some magical shenanigans this summer. Sadly, there’ll be no quidditch tournament at the Greylock Glen this year, as the Ilvermorny Health Department announced it would not be possible to host an event this year. But don’t worry, M.A.G.I. Con officials left a hopeful message on their Facebook page, announcing: “We’ll try again in 2021.”
